The Arkansas Junior Academy
of Science

The Arkansas Junior Academy of Science (AJAS) sponsors science contests for students in grades 9 thru12 at the state and region level, and for students in grades 7 and 8 at the region level. In this way, the AJAS strives to stimulate an interest in research and direct young students in the pursuit of science. With a sponsoring science teacher as a guide, participating students learn to develop their own projects and to present their findings in a professional manner.
