Chemistry Programs
The Department of Chemistry offers a wide variety of undergraduate courses in Chemistry to prepare students for careers in chemistry and to provide the chemical understanding required for a variety of other fields.

- The BS degree in Chemistry prepares students for a variety of careers that require an in-depth understanding of chemical principles.
- The ACS Certified BS in Chemistry allows the graduate to be certified by the American Chemical Society. In addition to the requirements for the traditional BS in Chemistry, this program requires some additional advanced coursework and some additional experience in laboratory research.
- The
BS in General Science - Option A (Biology Emphasis) provides a broader selection of courses that can form the basis for a variety of career choices including a number of health science programs.
- The BS in General Science - Option B (Physical Science Emphasis) provides another broader course of study with an emphasis in physics and chemistry.
- The BSE: Physical Science/Earth Science is designed specifically for students who plan to pursue a science teaching positon at the middle school/junior high level.
Prepharmacy
UCA has a strong tradition of preparing students for pharmacy school. Each year a significant of students admitted to pharmacy school have completed their prepharmacy program at UCA.
